Sri Lanka 2027
11 unforgettable days of heavenly food, extraordinary wildlife and scenery, ancient history, meaningful connection - and the kind of travel that nourishes your soul.
Some places entertain you.
Sri Lanka changes you.
Join me for a life-changing journey of discovery, exploring one of the most extraordinary countries I've ever visited.
Ancient temples, rock fortresses, sacred sites, elephants, leopards, turtles, monkeys, misty and magical tea hills, the best curries you'll ever taste, rich culture, sublime warmth, lush landscapes and white sandy beaches, and some of the most gentle, easygoing people on earth - who we could learn a lot from.
The energy of this country changed me, forever. I’d love you to experience it, too…
Come back with me in March 2027 and live the magic for yourself. This isn't touristy sightseeing - oh no. This is wonderful, joy-filled, expertly curated, soul-filling travel. The kind that leaves you feeling inspired, deeply nourished - and wondering why you didn't do it sooner.
What past travellers are saying
“Sri Lanka was an experience I'll never forget. As a first-time solo traveller, I felt safe, welcomed and completely cared for. Every part of the journey was thoughtfully curated, and the incredible food, wildlife, beautiful accommodation and genuine local experiences made it so special. Thank you, Chelsea. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.”
— Lizzie“I didn’t really know what to expect - though my travelling companion was on her third Chelsea tour! Loved every minute of our Ski Lankan experience, feel very privileged to have had it and share it with such an awesome group! Sri Lanka is a very special place I would return to in a heartbeat.”
— Helena“I'm not what you'd call a foodie, but I absolutely loved this trip. We had so much fun, made wonderful new friends, immersed ourselves in Sri Lankan food and culture, and experienced everything from safaris and ancient temples to local markets and free time to explore. Chelsea creates a journey that's vibrant, joyful and unforgettable. I highly recommend travelling with her.”
— Linda“I had an absolute blast on this tour! Travelling solo can sometimes feel daunting, but everything was so well organised that it was incredibly easy and stress-free. From start to finish, it was an unforgettable adventure filled with great memories. I highly recommend this tour to anyone considering it. You won’t regret it!”
— Andrea“I travelled on my own at 72 and felt completely looked after from beginning to end. Every hotel was fantastic, the food was amazing, and every day brought another unforgettable experience. The elephants, leopards, temples, tea plantations and, of course, Chelsea's singalongs on the bus made it a trip I'll never forget. I would recommend it without hesitation.”
— Ali“If you have any doubt about a trip like this, don't. From the first night to the last day, it was simply a bunch of seriously decent human beings having an amazing experience together. Everyone felt included, safe and welcome. Chelsea is the bond that brings people together. Just do it. You will not regret it.”

Why travel with Chelsea & Trafalgar?
The places are extraordinary. The food is sumptuous. The history, culture and people are inspiring. The itinerary is jam packed with everything you could want to include in your visit. It’s busy, but easeful, and joy-filled. You’re exceptionally well-looked after. The value for money is undeniable.
But… if you ask anyone who's travelled with me before what made the trip truly special, they'll almost always say the same thing...
The people.
Solo travellers, friends, sisters, mothers and daughters, couples and adventurers, all come together in the most wonderful way. People arrive knowing nobody and leave with friendships that last long after the journey is over.
The vibe during the trip is unlike anything you’ll experience anywhere else, for two reasons:
We’re all kiwis. This is a big deal.
I always bring the very best people together. It is one of my gifts.
And the very best part?
You don't need to organise a thing.
Every detail is taken care of, from the accommodation and transport to the restaurants, experiences and logistics. All you have to do is pack your suitcase, show up, and allow yourself to be looked after.
No stress.
No overthinking.
No wondering if you're missing out on the best bits.
Just an incredible adventure shared with genuinely lovely people.
And you'll be travelling with me!
Not as your tour guide (we have Chammika, our beloved and exceptional local Travel Director for that) - but as your fellow traveller, enthusiastic food taster, karaoke instigator, dance-floor enthusiast, selfie taker and chief joy seeker.
I'll be right there alongside you, sharing every meal, every safari, every market, every temple, every laugh and every unforgettable moment. Bringing people together, creating magic, weaving it all together. It’s such a beautiful thing.
If Sri Lanka has been quietly calling your name, don’t miss your chance.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Because these trips are unlike anything else on offer!
Yes, we'll eat extraordinary food.
We'll see incredible places.
We’ll experience wonderful things.
But the thing people tell me they remember most is the laughter, the friendships, and how easy it all feels.
It's like travelling with a big group of mates - except someone else has organised absolutely everything. It feels exciting, but easeful. How adventure travel should be!
And honestly, we pack a lot in, and I have people say it feels like terrific value for money.
-
Not at all! While incredible food is a huge part of the experience, these journeys are just as much about the people, culture, scenery, history and shared adventures. Many guests tell me they came for the food but left remembering the friendships and experiences even more.
-
Absolutely, and lots of people do.
In fact, a large number of travellers join solo (mostly women, but the occasional bloke), and by the end of the trip they're wondering how they ever lived without their new travel family. It's one of my favourite things about these tours.
-
Yes!
That's one of the biggest reasons I love travelling this way. No wondering where to eat.
No navigating trains.
No dragging luggage.
No endless planning.
Just enjoy the experience. How often in life do we get to do THAT? There will be a few pockets of free time you can choose what you’d like to do, to keep it balanced.
-
Definitely.
While the majority of travellers are women, partners are absolutely welcome. We've had husbands join many of my trips and they've always had an amazing time.
-
Every trip has a wonderful mix of ages.
We've had travellers in their 30s right through to their 70s and beyond. The thing everyone has in common isn't their age - it's their curiosity, love of travel and sense of adventure.
-
Yes.
Single rooms are usually available (subject to availability and an additional supplement).
-
Item descriptionUsually around 30–35 wonderful humans.
It's the perfect size - large enough for a fun group atmosphere but small enough that everyone gets to know each other.
-
I'm not there as a chef doing demonstrations or presenting every day.
I'm travelling alongside you as part of the group - sharing meals, exploring together, taking photos, having laughs and experiencing everything with everyone else.
Think of me as your travel companion who happens to be pretty good at bus karaoke.
-
Trafalgar takes care of absolutely everything.
Accommodation, transport, logistics, local guides, sightseeing, special experiences - the lot.
You simply arrive, relax and enjoy yourself.
They're genuinely the best in the business.

Many guests choose to arrive a few days before the tour begins or extend their holiday afterwards.

I personally felt very safe travelling in Sri Lanka with Trafalgar.
As with anywhere in the world, it's important to use common sense and be aware of your surroundings. But throughout our journey we'll be travelling together with experienced local guides, a trusted tour operator, private transport and carefully selected accommodation, so you can simply relax and enjoy the experience.
Many of our guests travel solo, and one of the things they often tell us afterwards is how supported, comfortable and looked after they felt from beginning to end.
